About PTR

What is the PTR?

The PTR (Parents-Teachers-Resource) is an organization composed of parents/guardians, teachers, and staff working together to enrich the Le Lycée Français de San Diego experience. We aim to maintain a strong relationship and to facilitate open and effective communication between the school and the parents. We organize events, help fund student activities, promote school spirit, and provide opportunities for enhanced parent involvement.

All parents at Le Lycée Français de San Diego are members of the PTR. The Executive Board includes the Officers, the General Board Members, a school appointed teacher(s), and an administrator from the school, all of which are voting members. 

The PTR Officers serve a 2-year term in their respective office. Each position has a standard job description, but each individual performs their role in a way that allows for their unique strengths and talents to shine through.  PTR officers contribute in many ways outside their standard role description, and heavily participate in the overall planning and activities of the PTR. PTR President

The PTR President is responsible for the overall direction of the PTR, coordinating the work of the Board Members and committees to promote the objectives of the organization. The President  facilitates PTR meetings, and coordinates with parents, teachers and administration to further advance PTR goals and initiatives. 

Brittany Severhill

PTR Vice President

The PTR Vice President serves as a program coordinator and a publicity chairperson, including preparing and dispatching regular PTR newsletters to parents and staff. They serve as an aide to the President, and perform the duties of the President in their absence.

PTR Secretary

The PTR Secretary keeps an accurate record of all proceedings of the organization and the Executive Board. They keep a current copy of the bylaws and accurately track meeting minutes and action items

Klancy Chung

PTR Treasurer

The PTR Treasurer keeps a permanent book of accounts and records sufficient to establish the items of gross income, receipts, and disbursements of the organization. They receive all monies and pay bills for the organization, keep the General Members informed of expenditures as they relate to the budget adopted by the organization, and present a statement of account at every PTR meeting.

Igor Geftman

PTR Event Coordinator

The PTR Event Coordinator acts as a recruiter and liaison for the PTR volunteer network. They maintain a database of volunteers for school events and fundraisers and help ensure the successful planning and execution of PTR events. They act as a liaison during event organization, recruit volunteers to chair and work events, and define a tasks and volunteer roles for each event.
